CofC Student Scholar Selected to Attend WACA National Conference
Ms. Caroline Berg, a senior at the College of Charleston, will be one of 25 Student Scholars from around the country to attend the World Affairs Councils of America national conference in Washington, DC, November 20-22. The theme of this year's conference is Seeing From the Other Side.
WACC is very pleased that our nominee was chosen to be part of the highly selective group of students to attend the conference. Ms. Berg will participate in think tank visits and daily sessions with leaders in global education and outreach, in addition to networking with members of other councils across the country.
Ms. Berg is a student in the honors college and successfully balances a demanding academic load with being a student-athlete. She chairs the College’s Honor Board. Two years ago, she helped revive the Model UN program at CofC, for which she serves as co-Secretary General. In her junior year, Ms. Berg participated in the highly selective Global Ambassadors Program.
Ms. Berg envisions a career in international law, security, or development. With a double major in International Studies and Political Science, and her interest in nontraditional threats to security and a rising China—as well as being a student of Mandarin Chinese since the age of 11—she will make a tremendous contribution in whatever career path she chooses.
